Message Board Post:
I've discovered that there are some members of the Nutt family that are buried in the same grave as one of my Dale family ancestors. Here's the info:
Sarah Ann Nutt was buried in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn on March 31, 1875. She died on March 29, 1875 of esyaipelas (can't read the handwriting). She was born in Ireland and died at age 39 years, 11 months. Her last residence was 981 Gates Avenue in Brooklyn. When I checked the Brooklyn Eagle Newspaper, the obituary said she was the wife of R.H. Nutt of Brooklyn.
Another one is:
Henrietta Hutt was buried in the same grave as Sarah Ann Nutt. She died on February 10, 1874 and was buried on February 13, 1874. She died of meningitis at age 9 years, 4 months. She was born in England and her last residence was 981 Gates Avenue in Brooklyn. When I checked the Brooklyn Eagle Newspaper, the obituary said she was the daughter of R.H. Nutt of Brooklyn (formerely of Hull, England). It did not mention that she was the daughter of Sarah Ann Hutt (his wife), and therefore I believe that Sarah Ann perhaps could have been a second wife of Richard Hassall Nutt?
I hope this helps some of you searching for Nutt family info. Here's my question - these two are both buried with George Dale. He was born about 1831 in England (I don't know where in England), immigrated to the US in 1832 with his parents William & Mary Dale and sister Ann Dale (Carp). He lived at 84 Front Street in Brooklyn. He died November 4, 1868. Does anyone know how they may be related (why Sarah Ann and Henrietta Nutt may be buried in the same grave as George Dale)? Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
